WHO Prize awarded to Prof. Michal Novak

Director of the Institute of Neuroimmunology SAS, Prof. Michal Novak, has been awarded the prestigious price “His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Prize for Research in Health Care for the Elderly and in Health Promotion“ by the World Health Organization. The prize honored his more than 30-years work on Alzheimer’s disease, the role of the tau protein truncation in the development of neurofibrillary pathology in Alzheimer’s disease and his work in developing a therapeutic vaccine, which is already undergoing clinical trials.
